Frederick County

Frederick County is the main population center in the northern Valley and is feeling tremendous growth pressure from the DC suburbs to the east. Frederick County is the #1 producer of apples in the state, and is 27th in the state for agriculture overall, although farm sizes have declined 10% from 1987 to 1997.
