Get Involved
How? Landowners can consider protecting their land. Others can help spread the word. VCC works where we are invited in, so if you see a need in your county, town or neighborhood, let us know about it.
People often ask us what they can do to help save land if they don't own any. Land use decisions are made locally and citizen input is essential to encouraging better development. Getting involved can be as simple as attending a planning commission meeting, volunteering on a greenway project, or supporting local and regional organizations like Valley Conservation Council. We encourage you to get to know your local boards and commissions, to follow development news in your local media, and to be actively engaged in decisions at all levels. Often the voices of just a handful of well-informed people can help guide a county to follow its plans and grow sensibly.

We hope you will consider joining Valley Conservation Council, as have hundreds of households throughout the region who support our work. As a VCC member you will receive news and information connecting you to further opportunities to be involved. If you have particular skills and interests you would be willing to share, we would appreciate your help.
