Rockingham County


Rockingham County, large in area and exceptionally suited to agriculture, has long been the agricultural powerhouse of Virginia, ranking #1 in the state. Poultry processing plants in the area make agriculture the largest employer in the region. Between 1987 and 1997, the county lost 5% of its farmland.

Rockingham County currently has 1,101 acres under conservation easement.
